Case Study: Rhythm Time

  • Posted

Rhythm Time was founded in 1995 by Kathy Doolan.

The Context

Kathy studied music at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, followed by a year at Moray House in Edinburgh, where she gained her diploma in secondary and primary music teaching. In 1989, as a new mother, Kathy needed flexibility in her working life. She wanted to share the benefits and fun of early music-making for children and their parents and developed the Rhythm Time programme.

The Strategy

In 2015, AFC went to Birmingham to meet Kathy and her husband, Brendan, and, with them, to carry out a franchise health check. This involves considering the infrastructure elements employed in the current franchise operations and looking at how they might be improved to assist in the recruitment and retention of new and existing Franchisees.

The Outcome

Kathy Doolan, Managing Director of Rhyme Time, comments: “Although our franchise system was strong, there were areas within the system that needed attention. We were impressed with AFC. We found they listened carefully when we talked about our franchise. We worked to a time-scale that suited us, and the health check was completed swiftly and accurately.”

Today over 10,000 children enjoy Rhythm Time sessions every week, run by franchisees throughout the country, who take great pride in delivering top-notch and award-winning music classes. To find out more about this franchise opportunity, please go to http://rhythmtimefranchise.co.uk
